The Sixties Scoop

November 20 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

- Free

“In the true spirit of reconciliation an apology from the Premier means an acknowledgement that this was a dark chapter in Alberta’s history. We welcome an apology that is long overdue that will begin the healing process in our Indigenous communities that is greatly needed

-Adam North Peigan

Adam North Peigan, President of the Sixties Scoop Indigenous Society (SSISA) will present the circumstances and long term effect of the practice of placing Indigenous babies for adoption, frequently in non-Indigenous families and without consent of the parents.

SSISA is a non-profit society formed to represent survivors in Alberta, create dialogue and engagement and develop true reconciliation. Stories collected have contributed to the depth of information Mr. Peigan will be explaining in this multimedia presentation.

This event is free, accessible and all are welcome.
